If you have seen the Instagram post regarding this cleanser, you will have seen it is my first time using this brand and only by a frantic rush into my local Wholefoods on the way to the airport did this come into my skincare life.
Saaf was created in 2004 by Dr Mah and as a brand they only aim to use the purest, natural ingredients – in fact this particular product won a Free From Award in 2017.
The main ingredients of this 98.5% organic balm are:
- Jojoba Oil melts away make-up while softening, protecting and leaving skin feeling nourished.
- Safflower Oil helps soothe irritations and Olive Oil has a regenerating effect on the skin.
- Organic Beeswax helps soften dry skin whilst Shea Butter helps improve elasticity.
- Soothing Lavender, skin-harmonising Geranium and nurturing Grapefruit Peel Oil help calm and normalise all skin types.
Lasting me a lifetime (in skincare terms) of 3 months I have been super impressed with this part. I believe this is in part down to the fact that a little really does go a long way and once placed onto your skin melts so easily, which in turn can be spread/massaged all over (excluding my eye area). It feels really soothing due to there not being an exfoliating aspect to the product, unless you wish to use the cloth, which could give you this part. I personally never use the cloths provided by companies as I always find them to rough on my skin so choose to go for damp cotton wool pads, followed by a splash of cool water and pat dry with a soft towel.
Fragrance wise – there is definitely a spa like fresh smell to the balm, which I believe would be down to the lavender and grapefruit peel oils – I prefer this to something overly flowery.
After use my skin would feel really soft and moisturised, which meant I would often remove my make up much earlier in the evening, just to get that nourished feel after a long day in the city. Ultimately the perfect base for the rest of my night time skincare routine.
Would I buy it again? The answer is yes… I am not jumping and dying to get my next one but it is one of the best balms I have used so far and especially for the length of time it has lasted for – complete winner!
